The affected area increased from approximately 3.5 ha in 2012 to almost 198 ha by July 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mapping, remote sensing and field observations were used to develop outbreak scenarios and assess consequences for timber production, hydrogeological stability, carbon, wildfire and biodiversity.
