RiForestAzione – Climate transition strategy for Valle Seriana

RiForestAzione develops a territorial climate-adaptation and mitigation strategy for Valle Seriana, integrating bark beetle outbreaks, drought, wildfire, hydrogeological hazards, biodiversity, forest management and the forest–wood value chain.

ForestLab develops tools to identify Norway spruce stands most vulnerable to Ips typographus and prioritise interventions by combining climate scenarios, stand characteristics and the PHENIPS phenology model. Forest inventories, soil sampling, dendrochronology, remote sensing and iLand simulations are used to assess forest resistance, recovery and resilience and to support restoration planning.
