ForestLab contributed to updating the regional criteria for preparing and approving Forest Management Plans, adapting them to regulatory changes, new survey technologies and the requirements of multifunctional and adaptive forest management.

Scientific contributions focused particularly on climate adaptation and extreme events, carbon and ecosystem services, and direct hydrogeological protection. The new criteria were approved by Lombardy Region through Resolution XII/6527 of 20 July 2026.
