LIFE FOREST4FUTURE – Resilient forests for the future

LIFE FOREST4FUTURE develops and applies an adaptive, resilient and multifunctional forest model based on Nature-Based Solutions. The project aims to restore approximately 485 hectares of Annex I habitats under the Habitats Directive across eight Natura 2000 sites in Lombardy and Piedmont.

Actions include controlling invasive alien species, restoring native oak-dominated forests, mapping climate vulnerability, selecting resilient forest reproductive material and developing adaptive silvicultural protocols. The project also integrates ecological connectivity, ecosystem services, governance instruments and transferability of the proposed solutions.
